We spent week 1 creating a Harakeke flax that represents our class. We found out that Harakeke is a common flax found in New Zealand. It grows up to three metres high and its flower stalks can reach up to four metres. It has seedpods that stand upright from the stems. We each designed our name and face on the circles in the background to show that we belong to Harakeke in 2015. By signing our tree-ty we are also agreeing to follow the school values of respect, responsibility and honesty. On Thursday afternoon, Jack and Mackenzie presented our flax at the school assembly. |
