The next HTJ challenge has a cricket theme. Harakeke are great at their cricket skills and the challenge has 2 parts: a game of 2 ball smash and a learn the flags challenge. Here are the cricket world cup flags that we need to learn. How many can you recognise? We have been working on these self portraits for the last few weeks. they are a mixed media artwork. We used; coloured pencils, water colour paints, pastals and collage. Check out where we are up to below...They are not finished yet but they already look amazing!
Every Wednesday for the rest of Term 1 Arrowsmith and Taylor will be having cricket coaching with Garfield from Mid Canterbury cricket. We had our first session this week. We learnt to stretch our bodies and shift our weight when running between the wickets and also the correct stance when batting. Check out some photos from the session below.
What a week of sport! Well done to Kasey, Harry, Cole and Cait who participated in the Counties triathlon at Hampstead School yesterday. It was a scorcher of a day so the freezing Hampstead pool was almost bearable for the athletes. Tinwald once again had some fantastic results.
Well done to Logan who competed in the Counties Swimming sports with five other Tinwald kids this afternoon. He even made it to the backstroke final and came second. Awesome Logan!
