Because we have been looking at our native's identity this term we decided to base some art around native New Zealand birds. We selected a bird each and then had to find out it's habitat. We painted our birds habitat using water colour paints. We learned about perspective and that things that were closer should appear bigger in our paintings. We then found a photo of our bird and sketched it. We put the habitat and bird together and WAA-LA = Awesome bird art! Here is a sneak peak of some of our finished products below!

This term in connected learning we are looking at native New Zealand. Before we get started there are a lot of new words we needed to be able to use and understand that relate to our topic. We talked about the words as a class and then 'researched' what the words meant. We used dictionaries and Google to find out more. We then created posters on Comic Life to put on the wall to use as a 'visual glossary' for us to refer to.
The poster had to include; - The word - The definition in our own words - 3 sentences using the word that relate to our topic - Images that relate to the word - Other words that have a similar meaning Check out our posters below and keep an eye on our connected learning page to see what we get up to next! |
